How to Win the Holiday Rush

Mom to the Rescue

We’re here! The final push to Christmas! There are parties to attend, gifts to purchase, events to host and dinners to plan! And if you’re a GTA mom? I’m going to take a wild guess that the lion’s share of all that falls squarely on your shoulders.

Look, I will be the first to admit that too often I neglect my own priorities in favour of something seemingly better for the “family” – like new beds for the kids or (current fixation) new dishes rather than say something exclusively for me. I can justify things for the family, the house, the kids – but not for me strangely.

I will also tell you that I’ve literally been holed up in bed because I didn’t listen to my body when it was time to slow down, re-prioritize and honour what I need – whether that’s time off, some self-care or building in routines that honour my time and worth.

Investment vs Quick Wins

Not to get on a soapbox about a purchasing decision, but maybe consider that you’re worth the investment? I know you can do it all (because you and I keep doing it) but imagine taking the guess work out of the early morning closet stare-down or having a wardrobe so aligned that literally anything you wear flows seamlessly and actually feels good. Can you see it? We can get you there. Really. It just means you need to decide to invest in you – in spite of everything else this season fighting for your money and attention.

We know how we show up impacts how we feel. Let’s work together to streamline the “what to wear” process so getting dressed has more flow and clarity. I think you’re worth it.

Interested but not sure where to start? Some of my top services:

Some Popular Styling Services

The Style Blueprint is a fashion strategy session. We spend some time on a call really digging into what you need from your closet (in office vs at home), how you use your clothes (behind a desk or on the road), and (most importantly) how you want to feel when you get dressed. This is a bespoke session that brings the focus to you so we fully understand what you need from your closet, how to get there and what that looks like. After our call I will send you a curated (and shoppable!) Style Board of pieces that fit your newly redefined style direction. If you know you want to level up but not sure where to start – this service puts the wheels in motion.

Fitted for the Office is great for anyone staring down the back to office order and struggling to fill five work days with professional attire. We begin with a style strategy call to find out what is working, what isn’t and how to create a professional wardrobe that serves you and also elevates your presence in the office and on the commute. Once we’ve created a plan and vision for what you need we then hit the mall! This in-person shopping appointment sees us visit the GTA mall of your choice and we find you some new staples to bring your work wardrobe to life. This service helps align your professional presence with your personal style. Expect to come out of this service with a clear sense of how to get dressed for work in pieces that stylishly reinforce your professional capacity.

The Closet Edit is for folks that want to rediscover their wardrobe. This 3hr in-person session is a deep dive into what fills your wardrobe. We try things on, look at prints, patterns, textures and fit and try to build a cohesive closet that makes getting dressed not only effortless – but fun! We try things on, eliminate what no longer serves and reimagine what’s left to maximize the many ways it can be worn. With 15+ years in the styling industry I can confidently say most people already have great pieces. What they really need is a fresh perspective on how to wear what they like. This service has two tiers, the Essential (described above) and the Signature which is the above 3hr session plus a shoppable style board of pieces to add to really level up and streamline your wardrobe.

Finally, for the mall-adverse, a stylist directed Shopping Appointment is the salve you didn’t know you needed. Imagine shopping with someone (c’est moi) that knows what to buy, where to buy it and why it works – it might actually make you enjoy shopping. I’m serious! This 90min in person appointment is part shopping, part colour/fit analysis with an educational bent so that you learn what cuts and proportions fit and flatter your frame best. Sound too good to be true? Let’s do it and you can find out for yourself!
