Hiring a Personal Stylist Is About Their Eye, Not Necessarily Their Style

October 14, 2025

Sounds counterintuitive, doesn’t it? And truthfully, sometimes when people first reach out to work with me as a personal stylist in the Greater Toronto Area, they sometimes say, “I love your style. I’d love to dress like you.” It’s always flattering, but here’s the truth: you’re not hiring me for my style. You’re hiring me for my eye.

That might sound strange, but stay with me.

My job isn’t to turn you into a carbon copy of my wardrobe (imagine!) or apply the exact same style strategy to every client. There are themes and patterns and tenets of good style I adhere to but my work is more than that. It’s about observation, translation, and refinement. I come in with a trained eye from my decades of time working on set, and now can quickly and easily spot patterns in how you shop, what you reach for, and what you avoid. I notice how your clothes align (or don’t) with how you want to show up in your life and work.

From there, we build a visual language that feels like you. Whether that means elevating your professional wardrobe for the office, redefining your off-duty look, or reimagining how you show up as a business owner or creative. Whatever the scope of our work, it’s ultimately about bringing your personality and presence to the surface.

My eye informs the process, but it doesn’t determine the outcome. You do.

Working with a stylist isn’t about transformation for transformation’s sake. No, it’s about alignment. It’s about feeling at ease in your clothes, confident in your choices, and authentic in your presentation.

If you’re ready to explore what your own version of “put together” looks like, let’s talk.
